SDG 3. Good Health and Well-being
Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
Target 3.c: Substantially increase health financing and the recruitment, development, training, and retention of the health workforce in developing countries, especially in least developed countries and small island developing States.
Relevant mandate:
International Networks: Parliaments have access to international networks and engage in interparliamentary cooperation. Thanks to networking, parliamentarians can share information and collaborate with their counterparts abroad by gaining more experience in certain areas. Environmental conservation positively impacts health and well-being by ensuring clean air and water, preserving biodiversity and ecosystem services, and promoting mental health benefits derived from nature. Additionally, by promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity, parliamentarians contribute to the protection of natural resources, the enforcement of environmental regulations, and the overall effectiveness of environmental conservation initiatives.
Example: The Parliament of Botswana, for example, has actively engaged with COP28 efforts, seeking to achieve a 30% renewable energy grid by 2030.
